1. Scope of Application
In sucker‑rod pumping systems, the movement of sucker rods inside tubing is complex. Such movement causes severe friction between sucker rods and tubing, resulting in sucker‑rod breakage and tubing perforation. Consequences become more severe under rod eccentricity conditions in deviated wells or horizontal wells. Sucker‑rod breakage and tubing perforation disrupt normal oil production and increase production costs.
When sucker rods rotate at a constant speed within the sucker‑rod pumping system, wear is distributed evenly over the full 360° circumference. This mitigates eccentric wear and extends the service life of sucker rods.
Rod rotators are protective devices designed to prolong the service life of field pumping‑unit systems.
