Abstract
On April 22, the day of the 50th "World Earth Day," Sinopec officially launched the fourth season of its Public Open Day event. On this occasion, 65 Sinopec-affiliated enterprises across 45 cities in China simultaneously opened their doors to the public, welcoming nearly 3,000 visitors to explore their facilities. This marks the largest-scale and most high-profile public open day event among industrial enterprises in China to date, showcasing Sinopec's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and openness while fostering a stronger connection between the company and society.
On the day of the event, Tianjin Petrochemical and Tianjin Petroleum, both subsidiaries of Sinopec based in Tianjin, leveraged their public open-house resources to actively promote the "Tianjin Area Safe & Green Petrochemical Brand Package." They invited over 50 participants, including faculty and student representatives from Hebei University of Technology, as well as members of the press, for a tour that included the multi-million-ton refinery’s central control room, the National Emergency Rescue Base for Hazardous Chemicals (Tianjin), the Tianjin Petroleum CMC Integrated Command Center, and the Smart Gas Station.
China Petrochemical Corporation's Public Open Day event has been held continuously for four years. To date, it has invited a total of 132,000 visitors—including community residents, students, media representatives, and government officials—to tour its facilities. The event has reached and influenced over 100 million people through various channels. Beyond allowing the public to gain firsthand insights into and experience China Petrochemical, the initiative also helps the company better understand external changes and public expectations, enabling it to proactively and consistently refine its operations, enhance management practices, and foster a more progressive corporate culture.
On the day of the event, 65 China Petrochemical Corporation–affiliated enterprises located in 45 cities—including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Jinan, and Nanjing—simultaneously hosted public Open Day events at their branch venues, attracting nearly 3,000 members of the general public from diverse industries. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of Sinopec's oilfields, refineries, and gas stations by touring the companies' production facilities, control centers, and wastewater treatment plants firsthand, as well as by engaging in interactive "smart learning sessions." Through these activities, attendees also discovered the close connection between the petroleum and petrochemical industries and everyday aspects of life, such as clothing, food, housing, and transportation.
