Abstract

The first gas jet pump, jointly developed by Longxin Company and relevant units from Dagang Oilfield, has been running steadily for over 80 days at Well Qian16-16 in the Dagang Oilfield. During this period, the pump achieved a peak daily liquid production of 67 cubic meters and a maximum daily gas production of 39,440 cubic meters. On average, it produced 38.3 cubic meters of liquid per day, representing a 53.2% increase in liquid output, while generating an impressive 15,000 cubic meters of gas daily—marking a remarkable 100% surge in gas production. Throughout its operation, the well’s productivity continuously hit new highs.

Previously operating as an intermittent self-flow production system, the well has seen increasingly longer shutdown periods—now exceeding its normal production time. Currently, it averages around 25 cubic meters of liquid and 7,500 cubic meters of gas per day. As a result, production capacity is rapidly declining, making it urgently necessary to implement artificial lift methods to maintain strong, sustained production.

After multiple rounds of technical discussions between Longxin Company’s engineering team and Dagang Oilfield’s Downhole Operations Company, the two sides reached an agreement to jointly conduct a trial using gas jet pump technology. Through optimized design efforts, the technical team successfully addressed several challenging factors on-site, including aging export pipelines with insufficient pressure capacity, as well as the fact that the wellsite is located within a wetland conservation area—making it impossible to perform conventional flaring operations. As a result, the trial was successfully completed on January 5, with the well now producing fluid normally and the pump being deployed at a depth of 3,200 meters. On January 13, gas reinjection for assisted production in this well was halted. Remarkably, without relying on any external force or assistance, the gas jet pump leveraged its unique structural design and the natural formation pressure to initiate autonomous induced flow production. The successful trial of the gas jet pump marks a significant breakthrough for Longxin Company in the field of rodless artificial lift systems, further enriching our company’s product portfolio and injecting fresh momentum into our drive toward high-quality development in 2023.
